What is Funambol? Funambol is server platform that allows people to sync and access to their email, contacts, calendars, tasks and notes, regardless of where that information is stored. Funambol syncs this data with 1.5 billion mobile devices and with thousands of applications and online services.
Where to download Funambol and what you need? Funambol offers you two versions Commercial one which has more features and full support and Community version which is released under GPLv3. Funambol community version or Funambol Forge server is available for both Windows and Linux based servers. Funambol Forge client is available for variety of PIMs and platforms (e.g. Microsoft Outlook, Apple iPhone, Symbian S60...)

How to install Funambol? 1. Download newest version of Funambol here. 2. Install the downloaded package and follow the download wizard. 3. Start Funambol either from command line or by (in Windows: From the Start menu, choose Programs -> Funambol -> Data Synchronization Server -> Start Server) 4. Verify that the Funambol Data Synchronization Service is running, open the system tray and look for 5. Now you can log in to the administration tool 6. Navigate to "Server settings" and add to server URI http://(*YOUR SERVER URL OR IP*):8080/funambol/ds 7. Do test drive with Funambol Webdemo Client. Add some contacts and calendars 8. Try syncing with Funambol Java Demo Client, and see that syncing really works. If everything is OK you should see the same calendar and contacts you just added. 9. If everything works so far, you're all set to do the real world test drive. Install Sync4j for outlook or get the Symbian S60 app, and try to get them to sync and show the information you just added.
